The Tempest

This project examined how AR could support the theatre and live entertainment industries during the pandemic. Nexus Studios and StoryFutures collaborated to create an AR adaptation of The Tempest. They developed a prototype for streaming live performances using consumer-grade technology, making it accessible to smaller and medium-sized venues. The app allows audiences to change sets, manipulate scenes, interact with the environment and get close to characters.
As the graphic and UI designer, I worked on the app’s branding and visual identity. I drew inspiration from 18th-century sound wave diagrams, incorporating geometric patterns and shapes that represented sound waves and the sea.
